FRE 152 France and the Holocaust
This course will focus on France’s collaboration with the Nazi regime during World War II. Topics of discussion include the nazi occupation in France, the Vichy regime, the reading of Eli Wiesel “Night,” the examination of diaries, the viewing of Claude Lanzmann’s documentary film “Shoah,” a visit to the Museum of Tolerance in Los Angeles, and an investigation of the children of the holocaust. Taught in English.
