WST 134 Women and Gender in African Politics

This course will explore the impacts of political and societal change over time for women in Africa. We’ll examine the impact of colonial and post-colonial structure on women in Sub-Saharan Africa as well as the growth of women’s movements and political participation during the development (and failure) of democracy and neoliberal systems.
