NUR 120T Community and Public Health Nursing

This theory course focuses on exploring theories of public health practice and assessing the health of individuals/families, communities and public health systems. Emphasis is on identifying problems through epidemiology, environmental health, and nursing interventions recognizing the importance of local, state, national, and global influences. Using the Roy Adaption Model, the student will be able to identify and respond to early risk identification, health promotion, determinates of health, and wellness. Assessment and interventions of various forms of abuse will be discussed including child, adult, elder, intimate partner/domestic violence, and sexual assault/abuse.
