Education
The Education Department offers undergraduate and graduate programs for the preparation of teachers:
Undergraduate
Early Childhood Education in conjunction with the Associate in Arts degree
Preliminary PK–3 Early Childhood Education Specialist Instruction (California Credential)* Program in conjunction with a Baccalaureate degree in Child Development with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education
Preliminary Elementary Teacher Preparation (California Credential)* Program
in conjunction with a Baccalaureate degree and a Liberal Studies major**
Preliminary Secondary Teacher Preparation (California Credential)* Program
in conjunction with a Baccalaureate degree and an academic major
Graduate

* Candidates should speak to an advisor if planning to teach in a state other than California.

**** The Liberal Studies major is recommended for the Elementary Teacher Preparation Program. Other majors may be selected, such as Child Development, Psychology, and related fields; however, this requires passing scores on the three subtests of the California Subject Matter Examination (CSET) for Multiple Subject teachers. Consultation with an Education Department advisor is required.

Certificates
Certificate in Instructional Leadership
Certificate in Inclusive and Responsive Teaching (CIRT) (Must be completed alongside a specialization in Instructional Leadership or Individually Designed Program masters degree.)
