PT 495B Research VI: Research Development
This 6th course in our series of 7 research courses allows students to choose 1 of the following options:
- IR: Begin to work on the independent research project that fulfills the requirements for PT 495C.
- This option is only available to groups who have submitted a proposal for independent research, approved by their faculty advisor within the 1st week of the semester & submitted to the MSMU IRB for approval by mid-January.
- Groups choosing this option will work on a single large-scale project across PT 495B & PT 495C.
- SR: Create a systematic review of physical therapy care for a diagnosis commonly treated during one of your terminal full-time clinical educational experience settings.
- Those choosing this option will work on 2 separate projects across PT 495B & PT 495C
- Those choosing this option will then have the following options for projects in PT 495C:
- A second systematic review of an alternative diagnosis
- An expanded case report – a case study with systematic application of EBP akin to a patient-specific clinical practice guideline.
