PSY 141 Applied Research Methods & Statistics
Introduction to the scientific method and its use in answering questions about psychological phenomena. Covers each of the major steps in the research process, including formulation of hypotheses, choice of appropriate research designs, empirical testing of hypotheses with proper controls and regard for ethical issues systematic analysis of data, and reporting of results in a scientific format. Emphasis will be on reading, understanding, and critiquing research. Prerequisite: PSY 1 and concurrent enrollment in PSY 141L.
