SOC 156 Trauma-Informed Care

An introduction to a trauma-informed approach to counseling, psychotherapy, and health services, providing holistic interventions and services for individuals who have experienced trauma in their lives. Key components of trauma-informed care consist of creating an environment of safety, trustworthiness and transparency, peer support, collaboration, empowerment and understanding the central roles of culture, gender, and historical context in a person's life experience.
