BUS 146 Social Entrepreneurship and Sustainability

This course is designed for students interested in solving global social and environmental problems. Social entrepreneurs tackle these problems—such as poverty, environmental degradation, lack of clean water and sanitation, disease, healthcare disparities, lack of access to credit, illiteracy, etc.—because they want to make the world a better place. Successful social enterprise and social entrepreneurship strategies from around the world will be explored and evaluated for both social impact and financial sustainability. Students will learn about the opportunities and challenges of building social enterprises, while gaining practical knowledge and tools to make a sustainable social impact.
