EDU 32 Observing, Recording, and Assessing Young Children
Introduce the use of alternative formats (recording strategies, rating systems, portfolios, and multiple assessment tools) for recording observations of children’s development. Use of observational data to diagnose children’s interests, developmental levels, learning needs, and with strategies for collaboration with families and professionals. Examines a variety of formal and informal assessment techniques utilized in early childhood education classrooms. Including the use of findings to inform and plan learning environments and experiences are emphasized.
