ENG 155 Principles of Storytelling: An Introduction to Screenwriting
This course is designed for students who want to explore the tools of constructing a screenplay and develop their writing skills. We will discuss a range of topics, including script formatting, techniques for generating ideas, the drafting process, the classical screenplay structure, conflict, characterization, dialogue, dramatic scene structure, the importance of rewriting, and the business aspect of selling a script. Students will be required to write an outline and then a screenplay for a short film. GE 6 unlinked or GE 5C.
