ENG 156 The History of the Book: Manuscript to Digital

An interdisciplinary critical-creative exploration of books from manuscript to digital. Students will examine global social and cultural histories of books, publishing, and related media technologies. In addition, the class will introduce students to various book arts techniques, letterpress printing, and digital text creation. Either GE 5C (Global Awareness and Understanding) or GE 6 (Non-linked-Integrative Scholarship). Cannot be both. Crosslisted with ENG 56.
