FLM 192 Movement for the Camera

This course focuses on capturing and filming dance movements for the camera. Students will learn various techniques for choreographing and filming dance, with an emphasis on human motion and camera movement. The course aims to teach students the fundamentals of field and film production, using dance as a medium for storytelling. Students will explore aesthetic and conceptual issues and have opportunities for skill development. The course will also examine how cinematography and editing can enhance the portrayal of movement in different forms of video. The final project will be a short film that emphasizes rhythm and pacing, and prior dance experience is not necessary.
