PSY 276 Ethics and Professional Development in Counseling
This course will provide a survey of ethical and legal considerations across a broad range of helping professions. These may include, but are not limited to: community colleges and other higher education settings, preK-12 education settings, behavioral intervention agencies, social service agencies, and other non-profits. Course members will identify broad, over-arching ethical guidelines that may apply across helping professions. Members will also have the opportunity to identify the specific legal and ethical guidelines within their identified field of interests. Case examples will serve to illuminate the dilemmas that take place within and across settings. Additionally, students will identify their values as emerging leaders and will utilize this course to prepare for entry or advancement in the field.
