EDU 124 Teaching in a Diverse Society

Students examine the development of social identities in diverse societies including the theoretical and practical implications of advantage and disadvantage as it relates to young children, families, programs, education and teaching. Emphasis on developmentally appropriate practice, culturally and linguistically appropriate anti-bias approaches supporting all children in becoming competent members of a diverse society. Students will self-reflect and reflect on issues surrounding social identity, stereotypes and bias.
