ENS 130 Filipina/o American Literature

This survey course on Filipina/o American Literature will introduce students to selected writings from various literary forms and genres from different periods in Philippine and Filipina/o American history. Students will learn how writing may serve as a means of preserving history; dissecting politics, society, and culture; and shaping representations of community and individual identities. Ultimately, students will be able to connect their present day experiences to the historical, social, and cultural contexts that influenced the development of Filipina/o American writings.
