ENS 165 Indigenous Studies

This survey course will introduce students to key issues that have been highlighted and addressed by Indigenous peoples in the Americas and other major settler states such as Australia and New Zealand. Instead of focusing on specific Indigenous lands and communities, students will examine broad themes related to the history and practices of colonialism on a global scale. They will also connect the past to the current lived experiences of Indigenous communities across various regions. This course will also introduce students to the historical development and major theories in Native American and Indigenous Studies.
