Through a variety of disciplinary lenses and methodological frameworks, this course explores the historical and contemporary themes and theories that evidence Black Studies as an intellectual, cultural, and political project rooted in a strong tradition of Black radicalism. The history and politics surrounding the Black Diaspora and the idea of Blackness will be explored through a close reading and analysis of the works of key thinkers in Black Studies such as, Frantz Fanon, James Baldwin, W.E.B.
