PT 403 Applied Kinesiology

This course surveys the basic biomechanics of the human musculoskeletal system, with particular emphasis on understanding the mechanics of human movement & musculoskeletal tissue function. This course will apply these principles to the analysis of common human movements. The course covers 2 broad content areas: (1) specific applied kinesiology & biomechanics for each major upper extremity joint, and (2) analysis of basic human movements. We will emphasize normal (ideal) movement & cover abnormalities and dysfunction on a limited basis.
