RST 23 Women, Spiritualities, and Empowerment
This course will delve deep into the experiences of women from diverse backgrounds, exploring how their spirituality shapes and empowers them. With a focus on contemporary feminist theologies, we'll examine how these perspectives have revolutionized women's understanding of themselves within their spiritual and professional lives. We will also analyze the role of gender in historical and current global contexts, shedding light on important issues of equality and empowerment. Whether you are majoring in psychology, sociology, or social work, or just interested in understanding women’s empowerment, this course is important for your future career success. The course also invites students into a critical focus on how women have been oppressed by patriarchal and misogynistic social systems which include institutional religion and its practices.
