SW 149 Racial Justice & Anti-Racism Practice in Social Work

This course will provide an introduction to the historical and contemporary social conditions, social issues, and social problems relative to racial injustices. In this course, students will explore race and its intersectionalities, analyzing how power, privilege, and systems of oppression impact the individual and collective racial identity development experienced on micro, mezzo, and macro levels. Students still examine social work's ethical responsibility and current policies, practices, and programming in striving to address and end racism.
