EDU 127 Advanced Curriculum: Language & Literacy, Math & Science, and the Arts for Young Children.

This course is an advanced exploration of language and literacy; math and science; and the arts (including art, music and movement, theater arts) curriculum in the education of young children. In language and literacy students will be provided an in- depth study of the acquisition and development of second language and emergent. This course provides an exploration of ways to enhance children’s natural interest in mathematics and science and their disposition to use it to make sense of their physical and social worlds. A study of the visual arts (basic concepts, theories, and techniques); dance (basic concepts and improvisation including philosophical and practical differences among the various disciplines of dance); music (singing, listening and improvisational activities); theater arts (creative drama, role playing, improvisations and story enactment).
