HCA 233E Philosophy of Personal and Organizational Leadership
This course provides an introduction and overview to leadership, management, and organizational behavior in health care, reflecting the uniqueness of leadership in the health sector. Students will gain an understanding of the major theories and models of leadership with a focus on their own philosophy of leadership and how theory informs practice. The course integrates theory with practice through readings, lectures, written assignments, from different organizational perspectives. Case studies and a series of personal leadership inventories/questionnaires provide students with practical examples and opportunities to deepen their understanding of their own leadership style and prepare for their role in healthcare administration.
