PSY 127 Immigrant Experience

This course examines the immigration experiences of people from around the world. The primary focus will be on exploring the experiences of immigrants living in the U.S. as well as working to dispel the myths that exists about immigrants/immigration. Readings and discussion will emphasize a variety of topics that are related to immigration including the reasons for immigrating, the challenges faced during and after immigration, immigration law, acculturation/enculturation, gender, economics, education and their trajectories in the U.S. Throughout the course, we will consider research and policy implications. GE 5C.
