PSY 241B Intimate Partner Violence
This online course meets the State of California and Board of Behavioral Sciences mandated requirement for 15 hours of training in the assessment, report and treatment of intimate partner violence. Students will learn partner abuse assessment, detection and intervention strategies including knowledge of community resources, cultural factors, and same gender abuse dynamics. This course is taken concurrent with PSY 241 Couples Counseling and must be completed for credit while enrolled in PSY 241.
COURSE OBJECTIVES/STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES:
Upon completion of this course, students will:
1. Asses and detect spousal or partner abuse
2. Develop intervention strategies that include community resources,
3. Identify cultural factors and same gender abuse dynamics related to spousal or partner abuse
