PT 403 Applied Kinesiology

This course provides a survey of the basic biomechanics of the human musculoskeletal system, with particular emphasis on understanding the mechanics as applied to human movement and musculoskeletal tissue function. This course will apply these principles to the analysis of common human movements. The course covers two broad content areas: (1) specific applied kinesiology and biomechanics for each of the major upper extremity joints, and (2) analysis of basic human movements. We will emphasize normal (ideal) movement, and cover abnormalities and physical dysfunction on a limited basis.
