PSY 434 Child & Adolescent Interventions

This course includes theoretical and empirical models of child and adolescent therapy, including (but is not limited to) psychodynamic, systemic, cognitive-behavioral, and postmodern approaches. Students will learn to identify signs of neglect and abuse, assessment and treatment of child abuse, and the legal and ethical issues around being a mandated reporter. Students will learn treatment interventions from a multicultural lens. This course includes a 7-hour online requirement for Child Abuse Assessment Training required by the Board of Psychology in the State of California.
