PHI 160 Philosophy of Religion: The Nature of Divinity and the Divinity of Nature

Does religion need a divine figure? Is divinity created? What for that matter is meant by ‘God?’ How and why is God? This course is a philosophical analysis of questions like these and may cover issues surrounding religion and the divine, including how religion creates culture and culture religion, the religious experience, varying relationships between divinity and nature, and problems and issues surrounding proof and evil. This course will approach these issues from multi-cultural and feminist considerations of religion and mythology. GE 5A.
