PHI 177 Philosophy of Diversity and Intersectionality

How does engaging a diverse group of knowers impact and strengthen our knowledge? This course will investigate the importance of diversity and intersectionality on our knowledge communities. The course will examine epistemological themes such as epistemic injustice, scientific sexism, scientific racism, and the importance of diverse perspectives in the development of knowledge. This transdisciplinary course will include readings from influential thinkers such as Kimberlé Crenshaw, Patricia Hill Collins, Miranda Fricker, Evelyn Fox Keller, and Elizabeth Anderson.
