PHI 167 Ethics and Film
In this course we examine ethical issues raised by movies and see how ethical theories can help us better understand the dilemmas presented in the movies we see. We will take two approaches: (1) A case study approach--going from the film itself (characters, plot, dialogue etc.) to examining ethical issues and moral reasoning, (2) A theoretical approach--going from major ethical theories to specific films to better understand how to live a life of purpose.
