SW 126 Case Management & Intake Assessment for Social Workers
This course provides an exploration of case management practice within social service settings. Students will develop skills associated with effective case management across the continuum of services, from intake and assessment through planning, implementation, evaluation, and termination. Emphasis is placed on the roles, responsibilities, and skills of effective case managers, as well as the organizational, legal, and ethical considerations that shape case management practice. Students will examine historical perspectives and theoretical models of case management and apply course concepts through the completion of a simulated case management project that follows the case management process from initial screening through evaluation.
