CRW 272 Writing for Independent Cinema
Focus on the craft, the art, and the application of screenwriting for the independent film. Students will be challenged to think outside the box in order to develop personal, original, and inventive stories and characters within the scope and budget of an independent film. The films and screenplays analyzed in this course will reflect creators and stories from diverse backgrounds and intersectional identities, in a range of genres, but ultimately all independent films. Students will leave the course with a well-rounded foundation in the application of screenwriting and the first rough draft of a feature-lengthscreenplay.
