CRW 278 Writing Horror and Thriller Fiction
In this course, we’ll explore two genres aptly named after powerful human emotions. Through a series of story analyses and writing exercises, you’ll learn craft-based tools for evoking those feelings in your reader while building a page-turning plot. Special attention will be paid to perspective and setting as key elements for building suspense. We’ll also examine the intersections of these genres and subgenres, as well as the multitude of paying markets for short scary fiction.
