EXS 165 Wellness Programming, Health Promotion and Facility Management
This elective course focuses on the key components of health promotion and wellness programming and the management of fitness and wellness facilities. Students will gain an understanding of how to design, implement, and evaluate wellness programs that promote physical activity, nutrition, stress management, and overall well-being for diverse populations. The course will also cover the operational aspects of managing a wellness facility, including budgeting, staffing, customer service, marketing, and ensuring a safe, inclusive environment for clients. Emphasis will be placed on creating evidence-based wellness programs that meet the needs of different age groups, fitness levels, and special populations. Through case studies, practical projects, and facility management simulations, students will develop the skills necessary to effectively manage wellness programs and fitness centers while promoting health and wellness in the community.
